This Privacy Policy explains how Parqify (“we”, “our”, “us”) handles information when you use the Parqify software distributed as an Amazon Machine Image (“AMI”) via AWS Marketplace.
1. Scope of This Policy
Parqify is a self-hosted product. It runs entirely within your AWS account. We do not operate Parqify as a hosted SaaS service and do not access or collect your data by default.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
Parqify does not collect, store, transmit, or process the following on our servers:
- Files you upload or convert (CSV, JSON, Parquet, etc.)
- Data stored in your Amazon S3 buckets
- Job configurations or conversion results
- Operational logs generated by Parqify
- Metadata about your datasets
- Personally identifiable information (PII)
All such data remains entirely within your AWS account.
3. Data Processed Within Your AWS Account
While running, Parqify may process the following data strictly within your AWS environment:
- Input files stored in Amazon S3
- Output files written to Amazon S3
- Job configuration parameters
- Application logs
- Temporary processing artifacts
This processing occurs only to perform operations explicitly initiated by you.
4. Support Email
If you contact us by email for support, we will process the information you send to us in order to respond and provide assistance.
4.1 Types of data processed
- Email address
- Name or organization name (if included in the email)
- Email content and attachments you choose to send
- Message metadata (such as timestamps and mail routing information)
4.2 Purpose
We use support email data to troubleshoot issues, respond to requests, and improve product support.
4.3 What you should avoid sending
Please avoid sending sensitive personal data or production datasets by email. If logs or configuration details are needed, share only the minimum necessary information and redact where appropriate.
4.4 Retention
We retain support communications only as long as needed to address the request and for reasonable record-keeping. We may retain them longer where required for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.
5. Telemetry and Diagnostics
Parqify does not send telemetry, analytics, or usage data to us by default.
If optional diagnostics or support-related data sharing is introduced in the future, it will be clearly disclosed and require explicit customer opt-in.
6. Debug Mode and Log Sharing
Parqify includes an optional debug mode that can be enabled by the user. When debug mode is enabled, additional frontend and backend logs are generated within the Parqify environment.
6.1 User-controlled activation
Debug mode is disabled by default. It is activated only when the user explicitly enables it through the Parqify interface. We do not remotely enable debug mode.
6.2 Log generation and storage
Debug logs are generated and stored locally within the customer’s AWS environment. Parqify does not automatically transmit debug logs or diagnostic data to us.
6.3 Log sharing with support
Users may choose to send debug logs to us for support purposes, for example by attaching log files to a support email. Log sharing is entirely voluntary and initiated by the user.
6.4 Types of data contained in logs
Debug logs may include technical information such as timestamps, error messages, system events, request identifiers, and configuration-related details. Logs are intended to support troubleshooting and should not include sensitive personal data or production datasets.
6.5 Purpose of processing
Shared debug logs are processed solely to diagnose issues, provide technical support, and improve product stability.
6.6 Retention
Debug logs received via support channels are retained only as long as necessary to resolve the reported issue and for reasonable internal documentation, unless longer retention is required for legal or security reasons.
7. AWS Services
Parqify runs on AWS infrastructure under your control. Your use of AWS services (including EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and networking) is governed by your agreements with Amazon Web Services.
We are not responsible for AWS’s data handling practices. Please review AWS’s privacy documentation separately.
8. Access to Customer Data
We do not have access to
- Your AWS account
- Your EC2 instances
- Your S3 buckets
- Your logs or processed files
Any access would require explicit permissions granted by you, such as for support or troubleshooting purposes.
9. Data Security
Data security depends on your AWS configuration, including IAM policies, network controls, and encryption settings.
Parqify is designed to operate within AWS security best practices, but you are responsible for configuring and maintaining appropriate security controls.
10. Data Retention
Parqify does not define independent data retention policies. Data retention is fully controlled by your AWS configuration and internal policies.
11. Children’s Privacy
Parqify is not intended for use by children and does not knowingly process data related to minors.
12. International Data Transfers
Parqify does not transfer data outside your AWS account. Data location is determined by the AWS region you select.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect:
- Product changes
- Legal requirements
- AWS Marketplace requirements
